← back to Know Thy RivalsRefund Policy
Last updated: October 15, 2026 · This one is short because we mean it.
The promise
If a brief was not worth $20 to you, tell us and we will refund it. We do not require a reason,
we do not ask you to explain your business, and we do not make you fill out a form.
How it works in practice
- Within 14 days of any charge: full refund for that month, no questions.
- After 14 days: we refund the unused part of the month if something is genuinely
wrong with the service, and we say so honestly if we think it is not a fair ask.
- The $1 first week: if you do nothing, the pilot simply ends. You will not be
quietly rolled into a paid month — you choose to continue.
- Cancelling is not the same as a refund. Cancel to stop future charges. Ask for
a refund to get money back for a charge you already paid.
How to ask
Reply to any brief email, or write to
hello@knowthyrivals.com with the word "refund" in the
subject. We confirm back, and money goes back to the card or account you paid from. Refunds usually
show in 5 to 10 business days — that part is our payment processor's timing, not ours.
Where we draw the line
- Refunds cover the service fee. We cannot pay for a business decision you made using a brief.
- If a card is charged twice, we refund the duplicate on sight.
- Repeated refund-then-rejoin behavior gets a conversation before it gets another refund — said
plainly rather than as an accusation.
Chargebacks
If you do not recognize a charge, tell us before contacting your bank. We will resolve it or refund
it directly, and we would much rather fix it than file paperwork against you.
