Huge, profitable companies trading well below their best price. What this tells you: where patient money may be loading up before the crowd shows up. Prices are closing prices. The Oct 19-Oct 23 numbers use the close on Friday, Oct 23, 2026; the Oct 12-Oct 16 numbers use the close on Friday, Oct 16, 2026.
The 12-month column compares that same Oct 23 close with the close on Oct 23, 2025, the saved session nearest one year back. It follows price only, not the extra payouts some funds send holders.
The Swing column compares the two weeks above it. A sector can be down and still be improving. That is the difference between a bad week and a trend.
Nothing this week. Our numbers matched the second source we check against.
Four weeks, not one. This is where money has actually been pushing the sector funds, ranked by the total move. The weekly table is the mood; this is the trend under the mood. stockanalysis.com ↗

Breadth check: the equal-weight market fund (RSP — all 500 stocks, each the same size) moved +1.6% against the S&P 500 fund this week. Equal-weight shares beat the cap-weight index this week, so gains were riding on most stocks, not just the giants. stockanalysis.com ↗
One rate moves everything else: what it costs the government to borrow for ten years. When it runs hot, mortgages, car loans and stock prices all feel it. We watch it against the 4.50% danger line.
Right now: above the line by 46 basis points (one basis point = 0.01%). Above the line, borrowing costs bite — treat rallies there as fragile.
What comes up next:
Every sector fund, its last close, how far it sits under the best price of the past year, and whether it trades above its 50-day or 200-day average (the trend lines built from the last 50 or 200 trading days). Cheap and falling is not the same as cheap and basing out.

Four funds that pay cash out every month. The yield is the yearly payout as a percent of the price. The last column turns it into the only number that feels real: dollars in your account each month on a $10,000 slice.

Smaller account? The math scales: half the money, half the monthly cash. A $25,000 account is two and a half times the slice in the last column, so it pays two and a half times the cash shown. Income math matters long before the word retirement sounds real.
One market mechanism, explained from zero every week. No finance background needed.

Why does one fund pay a huge payout while a plain index fund barely pays? Funds that write calls collect fees, and they pass those fees to you as income. The fine print: when the market sprints, the calls they sold cap most of the extra gain. So the fat payout and the missing growth are the same trade, seen from two sides. Read the fund's own page to see how it earns that cash before you call it income.
